Slurm was the easy part: a batch scheduler on an EDA estate

Standing up Slurm on a chip design company's compute estate took a day. Almost none of that day was spent on Slurm. It went on a hardened OS, an ageing systemd, identity, DNS, NFS netgroups, and a monitoring stack that failed without saying so.
